India is blessed to have a number of well-known individuals who have made "India" proud, including great philosophers and sportsmen.

Who this person is?

Today, I'll be discussing MS Dhoni, a former Indian cricket player who played internationally. He was born in Ranchi, Jharkhand, on July 7, 1981. From 2003 onwards, he is all into cricket. He led the Indian cricket team as a captain for a good 10 years, from 2007 to 2017.

How do you know about this person?

In addition to being a fantastic batsman, he is also among the world's top wicketkeepers. He's renowned for stumping people smartly. I've been following him ever since India's inaugural ICC T-20 World Cup victory in 2007. He is incredibly well-liked since, while he was captain, India won every ICC Tournament, including the 2011 World Cup. Being a huge fan of Dhoni, I never miss a game that he participates in. Even though he no longer plays for the Indian cricket team, he continues to showcase his talent in IPL.

What sort of life did they have before they became famous?

He went to school at Jharkhand's Shyamali, which is close to Ranchi. Although he was a model student-athlete, his favourite sports were football and badminton. He was the goalie for his school. His football coach sent him for wicketkeeping for a local cricket club from 1995 to 1998. Moreover, before joining cricket, from 2001 to 2003, he worked as a ticket collector at the Kharagpur Railway Station.

How did this person become famous and explain why you like this person?

People adore him because of his calm demeanour and his ability to impact the public via hard work. When he plays, he never loses his composure and consistently makes brilliant choices to lead his team to victory. The way he handles pressure gives young players more self-assurance. Currently, he is participating in the Indian Premier League despite a knee ailment, which makes him an incredible and inspiring sportsperson.

Conclusion

I find great inspiration in MS Dhoni sharing his life's lessons. His values of pursuing your passion and giving everything you have when working on a particular dream inspire me to work effectively.

IELTS speaking part 3 - Follow up questions

The IELTS speaking exam concludes with a discussion round. This is an almost five-minute round. The answers must contain at least three to four sentences and be in-depth. For the cue card topic, "Describe a Famous Person that you are interested in," the IELTS Speaking Part 3 follow-up questions, which are commonly asked, are mentioned below.

Question: What type of people are famous in your country?

Answer: In my nation, three categories of people have achieved fame. Stars in films make up the first category. The film industry in my country is referred to as Bollywood. Any celebrity who stars in some noteworthy films automatically becomes well-known. Apart from this, sports celebrities, particularly cricket players, make up the second group. Millions of fans love their favourite athletes, and they support them in ways that go beyond the norm. Furthermore, in my country, politicians are also well-known. Some get notoriety by giving back to the community.

Question: How do people become famous nowadays?

Answer: In my opinion, it is now possible to become well-known these days. A trend has been started by users of social media platforms who go by the name "influencers." Even so, though, they must work really hard to be acknowledged by the audience. They put in a lot of overtime and arduous labour to get to the brink of success.

Question: What is the difference between people who were famous earlier and who are famous now?

Answer: The majority of famous people at the time, regardless of their profession, actors, politicians, businesspeople, or leaders, became well-known due to their accomplishments, which were the result of hard work throughout their lives. The word-of-mouth publicity helped a few of them gain popularity. Nowadays, the majority of celebrities are created by the media. Any person can become a celebrity overnight with the help of any media source. Whether or not they truly deserve it is irrelevant.

Question: What qualities do famous people have in common?

Answer: Prominent individuals exhibit exceptional work ethic, devotion, punctuality, and time management skills. Additionally, these individuals have strong communication, cooperation, coordination, and leadership qualities. These folks are passionate and genuinely honest. They are aware of what is appropriate to do and how to do it. They structure their success through the use of resources and a value placed on relationships.

Question: What do you think about nepotism amongst famous people?

Answer: Nepotism is a phrase that is much debated these days, although it has both good and bad features. According to Indian custom, one's family comes first, and one has a duty to do them a favour. However, it is not a wise decision to put your trust in an incompetent person, and nepotism is condemned here. If not, family is the only source of the best teachings. Decisions and opportunities ought to be made on the basis of talent rather than connections.

Question: Describe the ways that famous people influence the public?

Answer: Public personalities, whether in business, entertainment, sports, or the media, have the power to uplift and influence people with their skill, tenacity, authenticity, and distinctive styles. Sometimes, the general public can learn from the way celebrities handle their relationships, personal lives, and crises. However, the problem lies in the fact that people occasionally neglect their own responsibilities because they find it difficult to accept the mistakes made by their idols. Sometimes, they try to justify not just the mistakes made by their favourite celebrities but also their own, which can mislead the general audience.
