Describe a person who always has interesting ideas or opinions cue card - sample answer 1

Introduction

To be quite honest, I know many people with excellent and noteworthy opinions, and I am always impressed and fascinated by such people. But I want to tell you about someone who is very close to me and has an amazing ability to generate interesting ideas and viewpoints on a variety of subjects.

Who is this person?

This person is Deepti, my elder sister. She has been a significant influence and source of inspiration in my life. She is intelligent, insightful, and always eager to share her unique perspectives.

How do you know this person?

I have known Deepti all my life. We grew up together and shared many experiences, conversations, and moments of learning.

What interesting ideas/opinions he or she has?

Deepti often surprises me with distinct ideas or opinions. For instance, she talks about all the taboo topics very openly and doesn't hesitate at all. She is very opinionated about how women should be treated equally in society like men. At the same time, she is always understanding and respectful of the challenges that society throws over men in general.

Explain why you think his/her ideas are interesting.

I find Deepti's ideas captivating because they are creative and rooted in practicality and compassion. She has a unique ability to think outside the box and find feasible solutions to complex problems. Moreover, her opinions are well-informed and backed by thorough research, making them persuasive and thought-provoking.

Deepti's ideas often challenge conventional thinking and inspire meaningful discussions among our family and friends. She encourages us to consider different perspectives and explore innovative approaches to everyday challenges.

Conclusion

Overall, Deepti's ability to generate interesting ideas and opinions reflects her intellectual curiosity and passion for making a positive impact.

Introduction

I would like to talk about a friend with a captivating mind and a wealth of fascinating ideas and opinions.

Who is this person?

Palak is a close friend of mine whom I met during college. We instantly connected due to our common interests in literature, art and social issues.

How do you know this person?

I have known Palak for 4 years now and we have developed a strong bond through our mutual passion for exploring new ideas and discussing various topics.

What interesting ideas/opinions does he or she have?

Palak always surprises me with her thought-provoking ideas. For example, she proposed a unique concept for a community art project that aimed to promote cultural diversity and unity. Her idea involved collaborating with local artists to create murals depicting different traditions and stories from around the world. This can help poor artists to build their reputation and earn some money. On the other hand, the people of our country will be more educated about different traditions and cultures. Additionally, Palak often shares insightful perspectives on current events, advocating for inclusivity and social justice.

Explain why you think his/her ideas are interesting.

Her opinions are particularly compelling because she approaches every topic with an open mind and a genuine desire to make a difference. Her innovative thinking challenges conventional norms and encourages others to consider alternative viewpoints.

Conclusion

Overall, Palak i0s a vital part of my life and I always feel happy thinking about her. She is both, my best friend and my source of creative inspiration. I praise God for blessing me with such a wonderful companion.

IELTS Speaking Part 3 - Follow up questions

Question: Can you describe a specific moment when you found this person's ideas particularly thought-provoking or insightful?

Answer: Once, while having a conversation with one of my colleagues regarding awareness of water scarcity, I got thought-provoking or insightful. When she started telling the facts about how much water we waste and how water is becoming scarce, I realised the importance of preserving this natural resource. Life on earth is almost impossible without water. Additionally, she also gave suggestions on how we can save water through small daily activities, which was quite insightful.

Question: How do inventors or philosophers come up with new ideas?

Answer: I believe inventors or philosophers view society through the eyes of its citizens. They start by observing what the nation needs to advance, and then they continue to think deeply until they find an answer. They come up with new ideas because they are driven to learn everything and will stop at nothing to attain what they want.

Question: What kind of people have lots of great ideas in your country?

Answer: Individuals in my nation who work in entrepreneurship and technology frequently come up with brilliant ideas. Because of the developing startup culture, people working in these fields are encouraged to think creatively and find answers to a variety of problems. In addition, educators, writers and artists are renowned for their originality and inventiveness.

Question: Why are there more and more differences between children and their parents?

Answer: Because of the variations in their ways of thinking, children and parents are becoming increasingly diverse. This is precisely what the term "generation gap" refers to. Although youngsters question everything and want to know why there are things they shouldn't do, parents have their own opinions about what is good and what is not. Youngsters lack the maturity that comes with experience, yet they are unable to find the bad in anything their parents say, so they refuse to accept it all. Sometimes, parents lack the patience to give their kids clear, understandable explanations. Thus, there is a disagreement between kids and parents.

Question: Do you select the right people for the correct ideas or opinions?

Answer: Selecting someone who can assure you that they will give the 100% best solution is almost impossible. However, in my capacity, I choose the wise and older person who has more life experience than me and whom I can trust. Again, choosing the person does not mean that he or she is the only right one who can give the best advice.

Question: Is there someone with good ideas that has changed many people’s lives?

Answer: Yes, many strong personalities have good ideas that have improved many people's lives. For instance, every great scientist, such as Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, Marie Curie, APJ Abdul Kalam, etc., has made an invention that has improved people's lives. The creation of cell phones, vehicles, automatic machines, etc., has impacted people's lives.
