Introduction

The volunteering experience that comes to my mind is my involvement with a local non-profit organisation focused on providing educational support to underprivileged children.

What it was?

In my area, a local organisation planned to host a community event for 10 days to render academic support to underprivileged children. The main goal of this community was to bridge educational gaps and empower these children with the knowledge and skills necessary for a bright future. One of my friends was going to volunteer, and he asked me to do the same. I was always ready for this type of volunteering where I could help underprivileged people. Therefore, I decided to volunteer for the organisation. In this camp, my role as a volunteer was to assist in organising after-school tutoring sessions and creating educational materials tailored to the needs of the children.

Where it was?

The non-profit organisation had established a community centre in my society. This community centre served as a hub for various educational initiatives. My volunteer journey to help underprivileged children started from here. I visited multiple places in my city to increase awareness of free tuition and education materials available for local children who wanted academic support.

Why did you volunteer?

My decision to become a volunteer for this organisation was to help poor children in their education. After seeing socio-economic differences everywhere, I felt I should play my part.

This non-profit organisation's commitment to providing educational resources to children who lack access and inspiring educated people to support it in their spare time inspired me. Volunteering provided me an opportunity to address systemic issues and contribute to breaking the cycle of inequality by empowering young minds.

How did you feel about it?

My volunteering experience with this organisation was amazing, as it came with many emotions. As soon as I actively participated in the tuition sessions and saw the children's eagerness to learn, I felt very happy because I was helping poor children to get quality education.

However, the experience was not without its share of challenges. The socio-economic barriers the children faced became harshly evident, and it was disheartening. Still, these challenges inspired my purpose. Over time, as the relationships with the children deepened, I felt an increasing responsibility to contribute not only academically but also as a source of encouragement. While my goal was to empower the children, their enthusiasm, despite challenging circumstances, became a source of inspiration for me.

Conclusion

In conclusion, this volunteering journey was the best experience of my life. This volunteering journey taught me that underprivileged children have a right to get academic support. When we started to provide educational resources to children, the happiness on all of their faces was priceless.

Introduction

Volunteering is a powerful avenue for personal growth and community impact. One of my most memorable experiences involved giving back to the environment through tree plantation. It was a fundamental act of environmental management that became my profound volunteering experience.

What it was?

In my first year of college, I joined a campaign based on tree plantation as a volunteer. My role in this campaign encompassed various aspects, such as seedling preparation and planting trees in designated areas. We planned for approximately 1000 trees plantation in a day. However, our team planted 1200 trees, which was a phenomenal experience for me.

Through this campaign, I though to address some major environmental concerns such as deforestation and carbon footprint. I made people aware of the consequences they will face from deforestation, such as global warming, temperature increment, extinction of wildlife, etc.

Where it was?

We planned to tree plantation 4 km away from my college in a big barren land garden.

Why did you volunteer?

As a city-born kid, I always saw the traffic and pollution that can only be reduced by tree plantations and increasing greens in the surroundings. I was always attracted to nature, green areas, etc. My decision to volunteer for a tree plantation campaign was for the environmental cause. The tree planting provided me with the opportunity to play a small yet impactful role in addressing environmental issues, fostering biodiversity, and contributing to the overall well-being of the planet.

How did you feel about it?

While engaging in the tree-planting campaign as a volunteer, I felt a profound connection to nature and a sense of responsibility toward the environment. I felt deep joy and fulfilment when I saw the transformation of unfertile areas into lush green landscapes with planted trees.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the tree-planting volunteering experience was a journey of environmental management, personal growth, and community impact. The experience not only contributed to the well-being of the environment but also left a continuing imprint on my values, supporting the importance of sustainable practices and the interconnectedness of humanity and nature.
