Describe a valuable item that you would like to give as a gift cue card- sample answer 1

Introduction

When we think of gifts, we usually think of giving something to a loved one on a special occasion like a birthday, anniversary, or other achievement. Likewise, today, I want to discuss a special gift I would like to give to someone dear to me.

To whom would you like to give?

I want to give this gift to my best friend, who lives in another city; her name is Isha.

What do you want to gift?

I would like to gift her a handwritten note and a pair of sneakers. For as long as I have known her, I have understood her obsession with sneakers and handwritten notes. She also has handwritten notes saved from her childhood.

Why do you want to give it?

I want to gift her the sneakers because she is a sneakerhead and loves them as much as I do. She has been eyeing a particular pair of Air Jordans for a long time. Sneakers are one of the common topics on which we have always bonded. Along with the sneakers, I wish to give her the handwritten letter because she values them as much as the sneakers; she perceives them as timeless gifts.

How long would you need to save for it?

To gift her the sneakers, I would have to save for a couple of months because they are expensive. However, I could buy them before her birthday so that the timeline would work.

Conclusion

To conclude, giving this gift to her would make me immensely happy, and seeing her happiness after seeing my gifts would be the cherry on top of the cake.

Describe a valuable item that you would like to give as a gift cue card- sample answer 2

Introduction

Gift-giving is an expression of love and care. In general, gift-giving is connected to giving something to someone else, but giving a gift to yourself is a form of self-love which one should practise now and then.

To whom would you like to give?

I want to give this gift to myself on my birthday as a present.

What do you want to gift?

I want to gift myself a pair of diamond earrings.

Why do you want to give it?

I want to gift myself a pair of diamond earrings because, as the saying goes, diamonds are a girl’s best friend, and by gifting them to myself, I will have a feeling of accomplishment. Along with feeling accomplished, I have always wanted to buy something expensive for myself as I do not like to spend a lot on myself. Furthermore, it will be a matter of pride within my family that at such a young age, I am able to buy diamonds, irrespective of how small or big they are.

How long would you need to save for it?

I will have to save for nearly a year to buy myself a decent pair of diamond earrings. They are expensive, and I want to buy natural diamonds, not lab-grown ones.

Conclusion

To conclude, gift-giving to self is a mode of self-love that one should definitely practice. It is important in this busy world where everyone is concerned about pleasing others.

IELTS Speaking Part 3- Follow-up questions

Question- What do you think young people save money for?

Answer- Young people nowadays save money for a variety of reasons, from immediate objects to long-term ambitions. Many are concentrating on their studies and setting aside money for study abroad or tuition. Some people put money aside for experiences like concerts, festivals, or trips abroad. Some people save money for their first house, a car, or technology. An increasing number of people are also becoming astute with money and investing their resources to safeguard their future. In general, the causes differ substantially based on personal preferences and external factors.

Question- What is the difference between men and women saving money?

Answer- Men and women save money differently, and this discrepancy is frequently related to risk tolerance, financial objectives, and social standards. In contrast to women, who often tend to be more conservative and choose safer investment alternatives like bonds or fixed deposits, males are statistically more inclined to invest in higher-risk portfolios to achieve larger returns. Furthermore, women could emphasise saving for costs associated with raising a family, such as healthcare or children's education, while males would concentrate on assets like real estate or vehicles. These are only broad patterns, and individual behaviour could differ greatly between them.

Question- Do you think it is better to spend money or save money?

Answer- A balanced strategy that incorporates both saving and spending is, in my opinion, the best one. Investing money in things or experiences that enhance your life can make you happy now and down the road. But just as importantly, saving guarantees your financial stability in the future. Maintaining a balance between the two enables you to live a well-rounded financial lifestyle by planning for long-term objectives and unforeseen circumstances while still enjoying the present.

Question- Do you think children’s knowledge of money comes from school or family?

Answer- Since financial habits and attitudes frequently develop at home from an early age, children's primary source of financial education is their family.Parents are the primary role models When discussing spending, saving, and financial decision-making. Although basic financial education may be provided by schools, family dynamics and parental supervision typically have a greater impact on the day-to-day practices and beliefs around money management. As such, a child's attitude toward money is more strongly shaped by their family.

Question- Do you think schools should increase their awareness of money?

Answer- Indeed, I think schools ought to be more aggressive in helping children become more financially literate. Upon entering adulthood, many young people find themselves lacking in fundamental life skills like understanding interest rates, budgeting, and saving. These subjects may be added to the financial education students may or may not receive at home by being included in the curriculum. All these things combined will help them in making wise financial decisions in the future.
